![]() Welcome to the Big Walnut Travel Club website. I have no formal training for websites, but I have had fun playing around with this one. I hope you find the information you need in these pages. If not, you can always contact me at klhull@lycos.com.
I will attempt to post updates and announcements each week. Check the announcements page each Monday at http://devoted.to/bwtravel
This Club travels every year to the United Kingdom. Past trips have explored different areas within England. We always spend many days investigating the past in London: The Tower of London, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, and the Globe Theatre. Old meets new in Piccadilly Circus, Knightsbridge, and Covent Gardens where we shop, visit Madame Tussaud's Wax exhibits, and experience live theatre.
Every evening is filled with an activity. We have cruised down the Thames River in the moonlight, rock-n-rolled into the night at Rock Circus, followed in the footsteps of Jack the Ripper down the back streets of old London, taken a Ghost Walk in the shadowy night in York.
Theatre is a key activity for this traveling group. We have seen Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Buddy, Blood Brothers, Rent, Hamlet, Fame, Mousetrap, Lion King, and other wonderful performances in London's west end theatre district. Each year we look for the best performances to share.
In 2001 the Club members traveled beyond England's borders to explore Scotland. The "flying Eagles" explored Edinburghand its castle situated high atop a volcanic hill; we tasted Scottish cuisine, enjoyed Scottish music, and a few tried out kilts and bagpipes . For more highlights, go to Kilts & Castle picture page.
The year 2002 will find club members back in England, but they will also cross over the Irish Sea to visit the Emerald Isle. Dublin, County Wicklow, and the Irish coast will show their splendour. Check out the England and the Emerald Isle site and itinerary page. In 2003 Club members will visit London, Canterbury, and Paris. See the
itinerary for this newest trip offering: Castles, Cathedrals, and the City of Lights 2003If you want more information about this club or joining a trip, contact Mrs. Hull at Big Walnut High School, 740-965-3766, or go to the CONTACT ME page and send an e-mail.
